Game Pass has changed significantly over time, both in terms of the offering it provides gamers, but also in terms of the price we have to pay to access it. To try to gauge the value of this and how it has changed over time, these metrics have been brought together.
Total Active Games: The total number of games currently available on Game Pass. Note: It may include some duplicate versions (e.g. where there is a game available on console with a separate version (as per the Xbox Store on PC).
Avg. Rating: The average user review score for the Game Pass version of the game on Xbox (as per the Xbox Store)
Total List Prices: The current total price of all available Game Pass games on the Xbox Store. Note: This will be fluctuate based on sales etc.
Avg. Price: The average sale price of Game Pass games
Avg. Game Age: The average length of time since each Game Pass game released
Latest Metascore: The average metascore for the most-reviewed version of each Game Pass game. So if the PlayStation 5 version has the most reviews, we use that for the Metascore to calculate this. This is as some Xbox versions have very few reviews, leading to skewed Metascores. Some exclusions are in place (e.g. instead of using the Goldeneye 64 Metascore of 96, we have opted to not have one in this calculation at all (as the latest Xbox version does not have enough reviews))
